How do I run usage reports for Primo?

Answer

You can use Primo Analytics to run reports on user behavior in Primo VE.

You can create your own reports or run out-of-the-box reports created by Ex Libris.

To access Primo Analytics: from Alma, select Analytics > Design Analytics (Primo).

To access out of the box reports: on the left side of the page, open the following folders by clicking the triangle by the folder name: Shared Folders> Primo>Usage>Reports (open this folder by clicking on the folder name.

You will see a list of reports in the middle of the screen. To view the reports, click on "Open" under the name of the report.

  • Action usage reports show how users interact with Primo functionality, such as searching, using facets, linking, emailing, etc.
  • Devices usage reports show the types of devices (smartphone, laptops, etc) used to access Primo.
  • Facet usage shows which specific facets were utilized.
  • Popular searches show what keywords were searched in Primo, with the most popular searches listed at the top. There are two reports - one that lists all terms searched (January 2015 default) and one limited to all terms searched in the last calendar month (for example, if the date was October 3, the list would show terms searched from Sept. 1-30.
  • Sessions shows the number of sessions each month, by country.
  • Zero Results Searches show keyword searches that resulted in zero results.

These reports can be easily customized and are good starting points for more advanced reports.
