Why is the IZ OCLC Export Profile not working?

Answer

Import failed. Reason: Logon failed - the Logon ID and/or password is/are not valid.

The password in OCLC connexion for the IZ gateway export must match the password in Alma for the OCLC IZ integration profile to successfully export bib records into the IZ. Please note that the password in Alma can be set to anything, but the OCLC IZ export password must match the password in Alma. The password allows OCLC to communicate with Alma.

First, re-enter the passwords in Alma and in OCLC to test to see if the OCLC IZ export is working

  1. In Alma:
    1. Got to Configuration>General>Integration>External Systems>Integration Profiles
    2. Click Edit from the IZ OCLC integration profile
    3. Click on the Actions tab
    4. Scroll down to Password and Re-type or enter a new password
    5. Click Save
  2. In OCLC Connexion:
    1. Open OCLC Connexion Client
    2. Go to Tools>Options
    3. Click on the Export tab
    4. Click on the IZ OCLC gateway export
    5. Click Edit
    6. Retype the password to match the password in Alma
    7. Click Ok
    8. Click Apply
    9. Click Close
    10. Test the IZ export works

Next, if re-entering the passwords does not work, make sure the OCLC IZ export in OCLC Export is configured as follows:

  1. Open OCLC Connexion Client
  2. Click Tools> Options
  3. Click on the Export tab
  4. Click on the OCLC IZ gateway export
  5. Click Edit
  6. Configure the export as follows:
    1. Host: suny-###.alma.exlibrisgroup.com (### = your SUNY 3 letter alma symbol)
    2. Port: 5500
    3. Timeout: 30  Retries: 0 Delay: 0
    4. Check the Send Local System logon ID Password box
    5. Login ID: 01SUNY_###
    6. Password: [password you put in the Alma integration profile for the OCLC IZ]
  7. Click OK

Finally, if the IZ OCLC export continues to fail, it is best to delete the original IZ OCLC export and create a new one using the configuration above.
