Where do I make changes/corrections/additions to a Network Zone (NZ) bib record?
Answer
All changes/corrections/additions to the NZ bib record needs to be made in the OCLC bib record, unless it is a local note.
To make changes to the OCLC bib record you need to have access to either the OCLC Connexion Client or OCLC Connexion Web Client.
OCLC Connexion Client:
- Open the master bib record in OCLC Connexion
- Go to Actions>Lock Record
- Make changes/corrections/additions to the master record
- Go to Actions>Replace Record
- Re-export the bib record to the Network Zone (NZ)
OCLC Connexion Web Client:
- Open the master bib record in OCLC Connexion Web Client
- Select Lock Master Record from the Actions drop-down menu
- Click Ok when the pop-up messages appears asking: "By choosing this action, you will lose any edits you may have made to this record. Are you sure you want to continue?"
- Make changes/corrections/additions to the master record
- Select Replace Record from the Actions drop-down menu
- Click Ok when the pop-up message appears asking: "You are about to add or replace this record. Do you want to continue?"
- Select Export this Record in MARC from the Actions Drop-down menu to export the master bib record to the NZ
