How do I set up Auto-holdings for Sciencedirect or other databases like Ovid or Springer?
Answer
Ex Libris provides documentation on setting up Autoholdings for databases like Ovid, Springer, eBook Central, etc.
In most cases, you'll need to work with the vendor to create a code that will be entered in an Integration Profile in Alma.
For example, here are instructions for creating this kind of a code for Sciencedirect:
- Go to admintool.elsevier.com
- Navigate to your institutions group WITHIN ACCOUNT. You should be at Consortium: SUNY consortium -> Account: Broome Community
College->Group: Broome - Make sure you are on the ‘General’ Tab
- Under the ‘Library Integration’ heading, click on ‘Trusted Partners’
- In the ‘Electronic Holdings’ section, and the EHR (exlibris sfx & ALMA) subheading, click ‘Create Token’ and copy the token
